San Fransisco Breakfast
One bagel with cream cheese,
two croissants with butter and jam,
two slices of melon and half strawberry,
a cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice:
twenty seven US dollars!
Sipping very fine coffee
and chewing the tasty bagel,
I remember thousands of homeless and hopeless people
starving in refugee camps
throughout the world.
The images haunted me.
Twenty seven US dollars equal
230,000 Indonesian money
equal 100 breakfats!
Suddenly I choked.
I felt like I was chewing and swalllowing
the hearts of one hundred refugees.
I felt blood in my mouth.
